Tori has performed at the forefront of the British jazz scene for over a decade working as a core member with such diverse bands as the Ivo Neame Quintet/Octet, Andre Canniere's Sextet, 'Compassionate Dictatorship' (her co-led group with Jez Franks) and her duo project with Alcyona Mick. Tori's wealth of experience has shaped her playing and composing as is highly evident with her trio. A robust tenor sound, melodic invention and a balance between wit and playfulness marks her music out, not to mention a strong willingness to blur the lines between the written and improvised. With long-time musical associates uber-creative drummer Tim Giles and highly original bassist Dave Manington, the trio has been developing Tori's repertoire exploring the openness that the saxophone trio allows while taking inspiration from some of the non-chordal sax led trios of the moment.
